Missy (Williams) Erickson, 35 years old, is a devoted and loving mother to her 5 children, ages 10, 8, 7, and 15 month-old twins.  She is the wife of Kyle Erickson, daughter of Ray and Mickey Williams, and daughter-in-law to Ginny Erickson.  Missy is a sister, a niece, an aunt, and a cousin.  She is a community member, a cherished co-worker, and fabulous friend to many.  We are seeking financial donations and prayers for a full recovery and to bring Missy home to her family!

On November 5, 2020 at 3:20 a.m., Missy suffered a stroke and was airlifted to the University of Minnesota.  She underwent emergency surgery to remove two blood clots, one in her neck and one near her brain.  The clot near her brain caused the most damage as it was 100% occluded and prevented all blood flow.

After surgery, Missy was still unable talk and unable to move the right side of her body.  She progressed to being able to move her leg, then her arm, and is now able to take short walks. Missy's fine motor skills are also improving.  She wrote her name,  made shapes, and brushed her teeth.    

The MRI revealed that Missy suffered damage to the portion of her brain that is responsible for speech.  Talking is difficult and her words are very limited.  

Missy has amazed us all by the progress she is making, but her journey is far from over.  Once she is released from the hospital, she will move to an inpatient rehabilitation facility where she will receive intensive speech, occupational, and physical therapy.  

Please consider providing Missy's family with financial support during this difficult time.  The funds will be used for medical bills, childcare, groceries, and gas money so the family can travel to the acute rehab facility which is over 90 miles away.
