Miracle Baby's Wish

Donation protected
My name is Arabelle Marie and I am 10 months old.  I have been named the miracle baby. Being born at a time my entire family needed me most. I arrived in Mommy’s tummy 3 weeks before my Great Oma (Great Grandmother) lost her battle with breast cancer, she never got a chance to meet me or even told I was on the way.

Breast cancer seems to be a common disease in my family. It has now reared its ugliness in my Oma (Grandmother) less than two years later.  The doctors are amazing and things seem to be happening quickly to start the long road of treatment, but the bills are coming in even faster.

Circumstances and complications have come at the same time that insurance coverage was lost. The diagnosis and treatment plans have been difficult to determine and very expensive – just one of the tests was over $15,000! She will have soon have MediCal, but that won’t change what’s already been done.

Mommy, Daddy, Uncle and Auntie are filled with grief and can’t seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Right now my family could not be the greater example of that phrase “when it rains, it pours.” While there have been some happy moments, like me being born, there has been a lot of heartache.

Oma was a single mom of three who worked hard to support her family, anyone who has raised a family alone knows how exhausting it is. My grandmother should be over her worries in life and enjoying her one and only granddaughter, me. Instead, she is wondering if trying to stay alive is worth all the debt it has now created for her and her children. I have never seen mommy so sad as when Oma asked, “is it really worth it? Maybe we should just find out how much time I have left, and leave it at that.” These thoughts are all because of money.

They say you can’t get help if you don’t ask, so my family and I thought we had nothing to lose by reaching out, after all your donation could help save my Oma’s life.  I am not trying to be selfish I just want to grow up with my grandmother by my side. It’s the reason for my GoFundMe Campaign. I didn’t get to meet my Great Grandmother and I don’t want to miss out on getting to know my Oma.

No donation is too small, please help spread the word and share our campaign . . . only then can we reach our goal and have our voices heard. No family should have to choose between saving someone they love or being overwhelmed by an outrageous amount of debt. My family and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading, sharing, and donating. It is because of you I will not have to say good bye to my Oma.
