Minnie's Dog Injury Fund

Donation protected
On the afternoon of Tuesday, March 06, 2018, our family cat, Minnie, was brutally and viciously attacked by a neighborhood dog that broke free from its home. Minnie was lying peacefully sunning herself on our porch prior to the attack. She suffered a very large laceration to her abdominal area just forward of her hind legs, large enough for the surgeon to place her whole hand inside, badly scraped paw pads and several missing rear claws. Fortunately there was no perforation into the body cavity or damge to internal organs.

Minnie is a very healthy 10 year "tuxedo" who was chosen at the animal shelter by my son when he was five. We adopted her shortly after our handsome male tabby Rocky passed away of kidney failure. Minnie is very much part of our family as one of three cats in our home. She is also a big hit with our neighbors.

I have contacted the dog owner. As amicable as I could keep the conversation, the owner is not willing to pay 100% of Minnie's emergency and follow up medical bills. Total bills to this date have topped $5400. That amount includes emergency surgery, four overnight stays at a 24/7 pet hospital, intravenous fluids, antibiotics, pain medication and a follow up visit to check the wound and remove staples.

Your help would be greatly appreciated more that you would ever know as we nurse Minnie back to full health to spend many more years bring comfort and happiness to our home. Minnie thanks you and we thank you.
