<div><strong>Mindful Community Tutors (MCT) mission is to enhance academic skills and overall well-being by providing free coaching, tutoring and a joyful connection between seniors and children.</strong>

<div>Due to the events of the last few years, children, particularly those in under-resourced communities, have missed large amounts of their education and have experienced reduced socialization. Many seniors have felt very lonely and purposeless.

<div>MCT provides both virtual and in-person tutoring, together with positivity and mindfulness training. Our goal is to address the issues of both generations while providing intergenerational joy.

<div>We have had a pilot program running for several months, both virtually and in-person, in an elementary school of the Chicago Public Schools System. There has been very positive feedback from teachers, pupils, parents and tutors. The children have made significant strides in improving test scores and confidence.

<div><strong>OUR ORGANIZATION IS RUN BY VOLUNTEERS AND ALL MONEY RAISED WILL BE USED FOR THE DIRECT BENEFIT OF THE CHILDREN WE TUTOR.</strong>

<div><strong>Online subscriptions for children's education aids such as reading apps. </strong>

<li>No experience is needed, and you will be under the guidance of a classroom teacher.

<li>If you wish to tutor virtually, you will need to be able to use Zoom or Google Meet.

<li>You will be required to complete a questionnaire and pass a background check.
</li>
</ul>
<div>The children will benefit educationally and socially from your support. As a tutor, you will benefit by having connection and purpose. Equally important, the teachers will be grateful for receiving much needed assistance with their students who would benefit from additional one-on-one educational support.
