Minden teen Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma

Lloyd Jacob Chumley, or “Jake”,  is our sweet 15 year old nephew but he is also the son of Mark and Chrystal, a younger brother to Katherine, a grandson, a Lakeside teammate and friend to many, and just an all around great kid with a bright future.  But last week, after many months of feeling sick and living with pain, he was diagnosed with cancer, Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma to be exact.  

But Jake and his family are not alone in this fight... there has been an outpouring of love, support, fundraising, and prayers lifted up from this community, and for that we are grateful.   Mark serves in the Air Force and Chrystal is a public school teacher.   We want to continue to support Jake’s family with this GoFundMe page as expenses will continue to mount and the duration of treatment is yet unknown. We are so thankful Jake is being treated at St Jude’s in Memphis, where much of the actual medical expenses will be covered,  however not all.  We imagine how additional costs such as traveling back and forth (6+ hours each way) for treatments, lodging, meals, and other related expenses could cause financial stress during this time.  They know that God always provides and that He may use unexpected ways to do so... please consider how you can be “a way” whether it’s through prayer, donation, or both.  All is welcomed.

Neither Mark Nor Chrystal asked us to set this funding page up, but when you put yourself in their shoes, you may realize that your priority is the health of your child and family and your faith that God will see you through ..., nothing else matters.... not jobs, money, status, or popularity.  

We are believing that God will bring healing to Jakes body and that Jake will beat this cancer! And, thank you for helping in any way your able!
