Mind over Miles.
We are a team raising money for Multiple Sclerosis, a chronic disease that affects your brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.
Mind over Miles is our team, the person we are walking with is Gabriella. Gabriella was diagnosed earlier this year with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) but has been living with the disease undiagnosed for three years.
She has taken MS in her stride, although even the simplest of tasks that you would take for granted, have hindered her. One of these, is walking. Which is why we are, as a team, taking part in the MS Walk 2018. A 10km walk that people could do in their sleep, is a mission for someone with MS. Together as a team, and together with the rest of the MS Walkers, we want to raise money to fund new treatment and to help raise the awareness of MS with educating the public.
Gabriella is with the specialist hospital The National Hospital of Neurology & Neurosurgery, and without the help of the NHS and the MS charities, there would be no way she could start treatment at the end of the year that would cost her £56,000 on her own.
The disease causes the deterioration of various aspects of a person. This could be things like their mobility, memory and dexterity. Raising money will not only raise awareness, but it allows the MS Society to provide fundamental provisions for people.
MS is a hard, painful and lonely disease, but as a Team of Friends we are hoping if you would be able to help us achieve our goal by donating whatever you can, any help is greatly appreciated! Not only are we only excited about raising money for the MS Society charity, we are excited for Gabriella to finally try to come to terms with the diagnosis and we believe this will help the journey to acceptance.
The MS WALK 2018 takes place in London on 23rd September.

After only sharing this publicly (after being so nervous!!) we managed to exceed our original goal of £400 because we never thought we would reach anything so we have now upped it!! I believe and so grateful and thankful to every single person who has taken the time to share and donate
