Mincing Lane Protection Group

Who we are.

We are the deeply concerned residents of Mincing Lane and surrounding streets in the picturesque Surrey village of Chobham. Faced with yet another high-density housing development intended for construction on a green field woodland site, we have formed a campaign group to resist the appeal application: - The Mincing Lane Protection Group.  

We are now supported by the Council to Protect Rural England (CPRE) 

Our cause.

With planning restrictions eased and pressure from Government to increase new house build numbers, the relentless march of bricks and mortar across our countryside is creating an urban sprawl that is placing strain on village services, infrastructure and traffic overload on narrow country lanes, and degrading the ecosystem. We have decided to draw a line in the sand, starting with the BioRegional development for 30 homes proposed in a small woodland, sandwiched between our properties.

The need for funding.

Influenced by our campaigning to date, the appeal is now going to a public inquiry at which we will have the opportunity, as a Rule 6 party, to cross-examine the developer, to challenge their claims of suitability for the project on this site and hopefully get the application rejected. However, we will require the services of a barrister which unfortunately ramps up the legal costs. We need to raise up to £8000 by August 1st 2021 to meet this cost and we desperately need your help to achieve this. As local residents we are all chipping in to help the fight, but the large sum is too much for us to meet alone. Can you help save this little piece of England?
