Millburn SH Hurricane Ida Business Recovery Fund

Donation protected
12/2/21 Update: Thank you to the hundreds of caring community members who helped enable more than $400,000 in recovery grants to be provided to 75+ Millburn-Short Hills businesses affected by the storm, including the donations through this GoFundMe campaign. To make additional donations, please visit www.exploremillburnshorthills.org/donate

Thank you to the many caring neighbors and the community at large for your desire to help the Millburn-Short Hills businesses that have suffered catastrophic damages as a result of Hurricane Ida. Explore Millburn Short Hills, the 501(c)(3) non-profit Special Improvement District (SID), is coordinating a “Hurricane Ida Business Recovery Fund.” Your donation will provide economic stimulus support to businesses and property owners affected by the storm that are located within the Millburn-Short Hills SID and suffered demonstrable damage or loss related to materials, equipment, or the structure. Applications have already been received from 59 businesses, and your donation will help fulfill their grants. Note: Businesses outside the SID boundaries and residents are not eligible to receive these funds. However, there are other efforts by various community organizations to support those businesses as well.

The vast majority of the affected stores are family-owned and those folks have poured their life savings into their businesses already. All contributions will directly assist local Millburn-Short Hills businesses impacted by the flood waters that literally flowed down Main Street like a river - destroying and carrying away so much in its path.

The disbursement of funds to businesses will be administered by Millburn Short Hills Business Organization (known as Explore Millburn-Short Hills), which is the 501(c)(3) non-profit Special Improvement District (SID) for the township established to promote, grow, and support local businesses, property owners, residents, and visitors. Donations are tax deductible. This GoFundMe is one of several ways to contribute to the Explore Millburn Short Hills Hurricane Ida Business Recovery Fund, which has already raised over $350,000 - help us get to $500,000! All proceeds will go directly to local businesses within the SID impacted by Hurricane Ida and no overhead or staffing expenses will be taken from the fund. Thank you for your support. #millburnstrong
