Can you help support the ministry that we do through our horse riding program?

Mill Valley Ranch, one of four Baptist Camping Victoria campsites, has a unique horse riding program which, over the course of the past 50+ years, has been used to teach people about courage, resilience, love, growth and faith. This program has been a drawcard for many people to come to camp where they are welcomed, encouraged and taught about God.

Unfortunately, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the outdoor education and camping industries have been brought to a standstill with little information as to when we may be able to resume our normal operations. Though many sites can shut down in order to minimise costs, Mill Valley Ranch still has the operational costs of not only maintaining our farm but also caring for our beautiful horses to the best of our ability. With no camps coming in, funding this care is putting significant strain on our ministry; this is still, however, an utmost priority!

This is where you come in!

There are several needs that we had budgeted to cover over the course of this year’s income but are in a position now that, without support from our broader community, we may not be able to recover financially to the point where we can continue to run our high quality school, weekend and holiday programs.

Below is a list of the things we urgently need in order to look after our horses and be ready as soon as we are able to run camping programs again:

- Feed for horses
- Resources to assist in pasture maintenance
- Scoot boots for the horses
- Farrier and veterinary services (as required)
- New horse riding helmets (these must be replaced every 5 years or as needed)
- New saddles and saddle pads
- Horse dentist service
- Plus a host of new fencing equipment

As an organisation we would be so grateful if you would be willing to partner with us financially. Any donation you wish to make will go directly to Baptist Camping Victoria Inc, acquiring the things we need most. Any donations above and beyond will help filter into Baptist Camping Victoria’s campsites to help us recover as quickly as possible and allow us to continue our ministry on camps once we are permitted to resume our programs again.

Well, what can we say... Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. 

We have been blown away by the comments and encouragement we have received as well as your support. We know that many still want to give and many have suggested that we  increase our goal. 

The funds raised are currently been put to good use around the property between fencing, painting and other maintenance (keep watching the Instagram and Facebook posts for daily stories and updates).
A Farrier will soon be coming out to attend to all of our super star horses! 

Our initial priority has been to see the raised funds going to the immediate needs such as feed for the horses, fixing the fences and getting out the Farrier.

The ongoing needs we still have to meet are approximately 10 new saddles (at $1800 each), new riding helmets and horse riding boots too ensure our safety compliance. 

We also have an extensive list of property maintenance and development works to complete.
