Military Burial for Veteran Family

I wish I didn’t have to tell this story. I wish there was no need for this to be shared and help given. I wish Chris could just walk through the door and just tell us he was playing one of his sick jokes on us. But I can’t...
Chris Rutlege was just 36 years old and was a combat veteran and served his country with great pride. More than that he was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He suffered wounds from going to combat multiple times and his life after the military was one he often felt lost in but he dug himself out and was headed on a new purposeful path to be a pilot. He had just arrived in Oregon to start aviation school and on Tuesday September 19th, while staying with his mom and brother he went to bed and never woke up. He is survived by his wife Cindy and FIVE children Tia, Ryan, Piper, Gavin, and Logan.
This family needs your help in any way. Chris was a primary source of income for this family and because he was in between a job and school he had no life insurance. He will be cremated in Oregon and his best friend and brother in arms will be flying from Alaska to Oregon to pick up Chris’ remains and then escort them back to Pennsylvania to his wife Cindy where he will have a full military burial. These costs are not covered by the VA. This is where we as a community we rally around this family and support them in a much needed way. Any amount helps. This is not something that goes away. Grief is a forever road. Chris would be mad that we are making such a fuss over him but he deserves nothing but the best and to never be forgotten. Cindy and the kids need our help and that’s what a military community does. We are all one family when it comes down to it. Keep this family in your prayers And may we never let Chris be forgotten.❤️
