Miles in Memory of Julie

Donation protected

My name is Debbie Whelan. I am blessed to be a  mother of 3 beautiful children. Unfortunately in August 2015 our hearts were broken when my beloved daughter Julie died through suicide.

This loss of Julie was the most horrific nightmare of my life, all of a sudden, seemed worthless. Contacting Friends of Suicide Loss was a turning point for me and my family.

Since then I have found  strength and hope within myself from the support received at FOSL, a registered charity who focuses on suicide bereavement. FOSL provides an essential service known as postvention, which means taking care of the people left behind following a suicide. This includes mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, uncles and aunties, Grandmothers and Grandads, Partners and Friends and anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide.

In honour of Julie, on her 5th anniversary this 29th August  , myself and husband Sean, along with Julie’s brother Fionn and sister Hannah will be walking 100km in one day in the hope of raising funds for FOSL to enable it to continue the good work of caring for those left behind after a suicide tragedy.

Since FOSL began in 2015 it has to date received no government funding or grants and rely solely on donations. Your contribution is important and most welcome.
