‘Miles for Bartek’ – we’re helping Zosia and Maks
Rehabilitation is an ongoing battle for better future for disabled children. We need to remember that this battle usually last through their entire life - children need regular and specialist help to stop the progress of their disability and to enable them to live as independently as possible.
That is why ‘Miles for Bartek’ continues to support the families.
Zosia and Maks will join us this time and we will support them by raising funds for their physiotherapy.

Zosia is 7 years old - she has been born in 26th week of pregnancy. Zosia suffers from Cerebral Palsy and 4 years ago she couldn’t move about without help. After the operation that taken place in USA her health have significantly improved - she is able move around with the rollator and is starting to use crutches now. The operation has enabled Zosia to achieve a lot but there is much more to be gained if she can access rehabilitation. Zosia works hard every day and is supported to do number of exercises that focus on strength, coordination and balance. Just imagine the difficulties she’s going through…
Let’s not forget that Zosia is also a child who would like to have some time to play with her friends. But now the focus is on her coordination and to enable the child to move around more independently. This takes a lot of energy, hard work and most of her time.
Currently Zosia has few sessions with the physiotherapist, goes to swimming pool and horse riding – she absolutely loves it! It’s all needed and very expensive.
Maks was also diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. He was born on the 8th January 2013 in Southampton in 25th week of pregnancy weighing only 765 grams - it doesn’t seem a lot but at the same time it was just enough to allow him to fight for himself, for his life.
Unfortunately just after his birth Maks had to be intubated and plugged into the machine that allowed him to breathe as his lungs were not fully developed and he could not manage himself.
Maks had two very serious operations so far. One done on his little eyes because of retinopathy. This was needed to allow him to see in the future. Then when he was only 3 weeks old it’s been found that he has PDA (Patent ductus arteriosus) - the condition wherein the ductus arteriosus fails to close after birth so he had to have another operation.
In day to day life Maks is very cheerful and communicative boy but he is also aware of what’s happening to his body. He loves to smile and spend time outdoors but due to the poor health he cannot fully enjoy his childhood and a lot of things come with a struggle.
Regular, intense physiotherapy can give Max a chance to achieve impossible - this simply means that he would have a chance to develop and function normally in the future.

Należy pamiętać, że zazwyczaj ta walka trwa przez całe życie. Dzieci potrzebują ciągłej pomocy specjalistów, aby choroba nie postępowała.
Dlatego Mile dla Bartka otaczają opieką kolejne rodziny.

PAMIĘTAJCIE - nawet najmniejsza kwota, którą ofiarujecie jest w stanie pomóc
Zosia ma 7 lat. Urodziła się w 26 tyg ciąży. Cierpi na Mózgowe Porażenie Dziecięce. Jeszcze cztery lata temu nie potrafiła poruszać się o wlasnych siłach. Po operacji w USA jej stan bardzo się poprawił. Jest w stanie poruszać się z rolatorem ( chodzikiem ) i zaczyna chodzić o kulach. Dzięki operacji osiągnęła bardzo dużo ale dzięki rehabilitacji może jeszcze więcej. Codziennie zmaga się z ćwiczeniami siłowymi, koordynacyjnymi jak i ćwiczeniami na równowagę. Jest to trudne ponieważ Zosia chce też być dzieckiem i mieć czas na zabawę ze swoimi rówieśnikami. Aby utrzymać Zosi kondycję i aby mogła osiągać coraz więcej, musi poświęcić czas zabawy na rzecz ciężkiej pracy. Obecnie Zosia ma zajęcia z rehabilitanem , chodzi na basen i co uwielbia robić- jeździ konno. Wszystkie te zajęcia są zarazem bardzo potrzebne i bardzo kosztowne.
U Maksa również stwierdzono Dziecięce Porażenie Mózgowe. Urodził się 8.01.2013 r w Southampton, w 25 tygodniu ciąży z wagą 765 gram. To tak nie wiele, a zarazem tak dużo by zawalczyć o siebie, o życie. Niestety zaraz po narodzinach lekarze musieli zaintubować Maksa i podłączyć do aparatury, która podtrzymywała go przy życiu, ponieważ jego płuca nie były gotowe, były nie rozwinięte. W swoim krótkim życiu przeszedł dwie poważne operacje.Jedna z nich to operacja oczek, ponieważ wykryto retinopatie i aby w przyszłości mogł widzieć, lekarze musieli operować. Kiedy Maks mia trzy tygodnie okazało się, że naczynko PDA (pozostałe z okresu życia płodowego naczynie łączące tętnicę płucną z aortą) nie zamknęło się i potrzebna była kolejna operacja..
Na codzień Maks jest bardzo wesołym oraz komunikatywnym chłopcem, ale ma świadomość tego co dzieje się z jego ciałem. Uwielbia się uśmiechać, uwielbia spędzać czas na świeżym powietrzu. Niestety ze względu na chorobę wiele czynności sprawia mu trudność.Dzięki ciężkiej rehabilitacji ma szanse osiągnąć niemożliwe. Ma szansę na normalny rozwój oraz normalne funkcjonowanie w przyszłości.
