Family and Friends,

I would like to update everyone on Milani’s current condition. She was originally admitted to the hospital mid-October for neck pain and a high-grade fever. During her stay she suffered several setbacks; altered mental state, unable to communicate, utilize her motor skills, and had countless seizures. She was transferred to Lurie’s Children’s Hospital where they have been treating her symptoms.

The doctors were able to determine a diagnosis of MOGAD in late November. It is a rare auto immune disease where the body unknowingly attacks certain antibodies. Milani has come a long way and is currently undergoing rehabilitation. Our prayer is that she continues to show improvement throughout this trying time. Milani has showcased throughout her 3 years of life, that she is VERY STRONG and RESILIENT. And, she has been every bit of that during this time.

We would like to thank everyone for all the prayers, support and overall good vibes during these months. The phrase “It takes a village” has been in full effect and we truly appreciate each of you. Milani knows that you are thinking of her as well.
