Jewish Amsterdam is Building. With the reopening of the Beis Hamedrash Ets Chaim eight years ago a centuries old tradition has been re-established. A unique center of torah learning in the midst of the Jewish Quarter in Amsterdam. Under the great leadership of Rabbi P. Padwa שליט''× a grandson of the famous Rabbi Channoch Dov Padwa זצ''ל our Beis Hamedrash is growing.
The people of our Beis Hamedrash deliver services to a large part of the Jewish Community in Amsterdam in terms of davening for the amud, krias hatorah, and giving shiurim. With a small but strong group of people our goal is clear. We want to ensure Judaism according to the torah for the future. We want to stay strong and make sure that we will have an everlasting strong community.
Our latest project is building a mikvah in the Jewish Quarter in Amsterdam. A precious cornerstone for which our people already yearn for many years. Finally this dream is about to come true. All preparations have been done and the contractor is ready to start.
The small group of people who are moser nefesh to keep up our Beis Hamedrash are doing their utmost to help in this project. However they can't do it all alone. Have you ever lived in Amsterdam?
