Mikey's Leukemia Treatment

My little cousin Mikey is an energetic, determined, focused, intelligent, and healthy 15 year old kid.  He's an avid baseball player with skills beyond his years and beyond what most teenagers his age could even fathom. Well, he was healthy until yesterday, June 25th, 2017 when he became severely ill.  He began having severe pain in the side of his abdomen.  Once at the hospital, they ran some tests and noticed his spleen was swollen and his white blood cell count was over 200,000. This amazingly talented 15 year old boy has just been diagnosed with Leukemia. A disease that no person should have to fight, especially when that person is a teenager who is just really starting his life.

The doctors at McClain's Children's Clinic in Temple, Texas are in the process of placing a chest port to start chemotherapy as well as removing samples of bone marrow and spinal fluid to determine which type of leukemia he has, but no matter what, this is going to be a VERY long road for him and his family.  This goal is unrealistic. Unrealistic in the way that it's no where near enough for what him and the family will need during the course of treatment. 

This is a 15 year old who is no longer able to attend high school with his friends. This is a 15 year old who is no longer able to play the sport that he loves. This is a family who will have to provide round-the-clock care which will result in being out of work for long periods of time.  This is a family who needs YOUR help.  Please, donate what you can. Share this story. Contact whoever you know and put this out there for the world to see and help. 100% of all donations will go to him and his family for support of medical bills, daily living expenses, care, homeschooling, and much more. Anything helps and is appreciated more than can possibly be put into words.
