You may have seen my plea for some assistance for a former student of mine who has come upon some challenging times.  This former student of mine is a veteran of the US Navy, a single mother of four, and a wonderful student and an even better person. Thanks to a number of my friends she has an interview for a job on Monday and things seem to be on the mend. I was speaking to her today and when I asked about what the doctors had to say about her son's tumors at Sloan Kettering last week, she told me that they did not have enough money to make the trip into NYC from Long Island. It was either dinner for the whole family or the trip to MSK. I was going to send her some cash and thought that I might be able to help her get on her feet when my sons sugggested this could be a way to help. I have never done this before but this woman deserves my (our) help.

When I spoke to her today she told me that she is praying for me. I have never met anyone who can cope with adversity like she does and maintains an upbeat and positive attitude. Please help me raise some funds for her and her children if you can.
