Brain Cancer - two words you never want to hear. After turning 50 just one month ago...these were the horrifying words Mike Crooks and his family heard. Mike has brain cancer and we need your help!
Cancer holds no prejudice. It can strike anyone at anytime...but no matter how tough the situation may be, that doesn't mean Mike, his family and friends will not fight tooth and nail to beat it. If any human can beat this, it's Mike! Heck, if you know him, you know he is well versed in judo (since childhood) and for the last 4 years has been a member of Exeter Karate International. He is now entering the ring with brain cancer. It will be a fight of fights but Mike is strong and, if we all rally behind him, he will be even strong. Let's help him take down cancer!
Mike is a married father of 3 from Newmarket NH. His wife Cassy and his three children - Jack, Gabby and Molly are (understandably) devastated by this news. They love and adore Mike - as do all that know him. He is one of the kindest funniest souls. He has jokes for days and a contagious smile!
For the last 19 years, Mike has been a hardworking, dedicated and highly regarded head service propane techinican forTownsend Oil. For many years, Mike has been involved with the Boy Scouts along with son, Jack. Mike has helped lead many scouting events, field trips and camping trips. Mike has always been an avid outsdoorsman - fishing, hunting, camping, hiking - he truly enjoys it all.
When cancer strikes, it comes in a like Nor'Easter from every angle. And yet, the harsh truth is that life goes on... bills keep coming (and coming), family care and financial needs still continue. This is where WE CAN HELP! We can't fight this cancer battle for Mike but WE CAN HELP! We can help by donating funds to him and his family. These funds will help in many MANY ways. They will help keep his household running (as he is unable to work for the forseeable future), help with compounding medical expenses, travel expenses for his family and much more! Mike is currently at Mass General Hospital. He just underwent his first round of brain surgery on 3/5/18 - to help relieve brain swelling and the removal of one (of three) tumors. He will be starting radiation soon with the hopes of being able to remove two additional brain tumors. Mike also has cancer masses in this throat. It is too soon to tell what the treatment will be for this. The primary focus is his brain. We know he is in for a battle, we do not know what lies ahead but we do know that we will do whatever it takes to support him.
