Dear friends and family of Mike Going,
As you may know, Mike has recently found out about a recurrence of the cancer (non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma) he fought 18 years ago. Besides being a health challenge and emotional challenge for the Going family, this cancer battle will certainly also be a financial challenge.
There is a good chance Mike will have to spend at least $20,000 battling the cancer, and these costs are going to start right away. Mike’s health insurance is a “high-deductible” type plan. He will certainly hit that in the next couple months at the end of 2017, and early into 2018. Also, there are very likely to be cutting edge treatments which are not yet approved by insurance which Mike will want to take advantage of in order to have the best treatment and outcome. He will probably have to fly all over the country getting these treatments. The costs are really going to add up.
As his loved ones and his community, we want to gather around Mike, Mary Ellen, Gigi, and Oliver and show them our love through giving financial support. We have set up this GoFundMe (without Mike’s permission or approval, so he couldn’t try and talk us out of it! ) with an initial goal of $20,000.
Mike is such a gritty fighter with a great attitude. Please keep the Goings in your prayers. Let’s gather around them and show them our love and support in this practical way.
