Let’s Help out Mike Gallo & Family

To our Brothers, Sisters, Family & Friends:

I am writing this with a heavy heart. Our friend and brother, Engineer Mike Gallo, is currently recovering from the removal of a cancerous brain tumor. He also has a mass on his lung that has not yet been diagnosed. He was recently released from Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, where he received top-notch care.

Mike has been an engineer for 27 years, and he has given his time to the LIRR family with nothing but happiness and devotion to all unions throughout the LIRR. Mike’s family is at a loss for words right now, and they request privacy during these difficult times.

As railroad workers, we always step up to the plate to help one of our own. Mike has always supported his wife Kristine and their five boys. Now his boys are stepping up and trying to contribute everything they have to cover all expenses. Three of his sons are in the Air Force, one is currently in college, and one recently graduated from college. And they all aspire to work at the LIRR, just like their dad.
