Mike Acabbo

A beloved father, friend, and colleague, Mike Acabbo is a man whose importance in the lives of those around him is immeasurable.  Whether caring for his three daughters, Haley, Gina, and Sammi, and his wife, Jen; fixing a snowmobile in his garage; or tending to the many issues that arise each day in the high school where he is head custodian, Mike is always willing to lend a helping hand, and he does it all with a smile.  Mike always has a story to share or a joke to tell, and no matter what problem those of us lucky enough to call him a friend have, he is there to fix it.    

A few weeks ago, when Mike first learned of his cancer diagnosis, his initial reaction was to say that he was going fight this thing.   Knowing that his family depends on his income, Mike continued working until his first surgery and then returned to work as soon as he possibly could.  Mike has continued to work even as he is being treated with chemotherapy and radiation.  There are sure to be difficult days ahead for Mike, so now it is our turn to help the man who is always helping others.  The out-of-pocket costs for Mike’s treatments are already adding up, and any help we can give him will be greatly appreciated.
