mike's brain cancer battle

Hello, friends. On Sept 7 this year, Mike was not feeling himself, and went into a clinic in downtown Manhattan. From there, he very quickly was admitted to Lenox Hill Hospital, where an MRI determined that he had two brain tumors, later diagnosed as glioblastoma. On the 11th of September, he endured an 8 hour surgery, where the tumors were removed. Because of the depth in the brain where they were located, he emerged with limited mobility on his right side, as well as speech limitations (aphasia and ataxia). After a couple of weeks in a hospital rehabilitation, he is back home in Brooklyn. He is set to begin a course of radiation and chemotherapy in the next couple of weeks.
Mike, with the help and love of Iwona and Willow, is working very hard to regain his mobility and speech. This is where we need your help: we are looking to raise some funds for aspects of his treatment that are not covered by insurance, specifically:
1. At-home physical and speech therapy to allow him to continue his recovery work through the treatment
2. Travel expenses to and from the hospital to receive his treatment (with the help of Iwona's brother Tomas, he has been heroically taking the subway!!! but we do not want him to have to do that during chemo)
3. A home-care worker who can come in on weekdays and help him get his day started so that Iwona can get Willow to school and get to work herself.
All these things add up. Our calculations break down like this;
$3,360 for a car service to and from the hospital for the 6 weeks of chemo/radiation
$6,400 physical therapy for 5 days a week, for 3 months
$6,400 speech therapy for 5 days a week, for 3 months
$1,800 for a home health-aide worker

We know it's a lot to ask! We would not be doing this if we didn't need the help. This has been a very difficult time. We would deeply appreciate any help you could give us.
