<div>Hi, my name is Jennifer, and I am raising funds for Mike and Kim Wine.

<div>Mike has been fighting testicular cancer for 19 months and is currently conditioning for a stem cell transplant at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. We are prayerfully hopeful that this transplant will cure him. Mike has undergone multiple surgeries, procedures, and treatments that have left him unable to work for all of 2024 and the transplant will require an additional 4-5 months of unemployment in 2025.

<div>Mike is a hardworking husband, father of two sons, a 1994 graduate of St. Albans High School, and currently lives in Poca, West Virginia. As you can imagine long-distance travel for treatments is costly and stressful. Medical and travel expenses are piling up in addition to normal living expenses. Mike and Kim have traveled back and forth to NC every 3 weeks for the last four months and the transplant will require living in the Raleigh-Durham area for 8-12 weeks beginning late January, 2025. Their sons stay back home with family when they travel.

<div><strong>The Math</strong>:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Each trip to NC costs about $400 in travel expenses.
</li>
<li>Beginning Jan 1, 2025, insurance deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums renewed. Mike's deductible is $850 and his out-of-pocket maximum is $5000. <em>These are the amounts he will be responsible for this year alone.</em>
</li>
<li>Prescription drug costs and nutrition supplements average about $200 monthly.
</li>
<li>Kim's food expenses during hospitalizations are also quite costly. One meal at the cafeteria is usually around $20.
</li>
