Mike Tubbs

I have been asked to start this GoFundMe page for Mike Tubbs who is our brother.  As many of you know, Mike Tubbs was admitted to Emanuel Medical Center on February 19th and has remained there for the last couple of weeks.  Mike has had many tests and lab work done which all results were negative.  However, due to increased fevers and bone pain the doctors requested a Bone Marrow Biopsy.  The biopsy was completed on Monday February 26th and on March 5th Mike was given the news he had Stage 3 Multiple Myeloma.
Of course, Mike is in good spirits and has received many visitors to keep him smiling.  As we all know, Mike is the type of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.  He has been committed to helping athletes in the community and even as far as the Bay Area up their game and he truly loves the sport of basketball.  Very rarely would Mike tell a parent or athlete “no”.  Always in the gym working with kids and some adults that have gone off to college and come back to see what new piece of equipment they can use or new skill they can learn from Mike, aka: Big Mike, Uncle Mike, Tubby, Cuddy, Papa Tubbs, Coach Tubbs.
Mike is self-employed and has not been able to work for a while.  As adults, we know the bills don’t just go away when we are sick.  It is my hope that as family, friends, and a community we can help him with this worry and eliminate some of the burden while he takes on this battle.  Mike appreciates all the love and support he has received over the last few weeks.  Funds will be used to pay rent, utilities, and any medical expenses Mike has.
