Mike "Hoppy" Hopkins

As many of you know, Mike “Hoppy” Hopkins is in ICU at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and is going through heart, kidney, and liver failure.  Hoppy has served the Orange County Sheriff's Office for the past 22 years.  During his time with Orange County Sheriff’s Office he has been assigned to many different units but his passions have always been HDT “Hazardous Device Team” and the CLRT “clan lab response team” otherwise known as the “Meth Team.”  Hoppy was part of the HDT response to the Pulse shooting which was one of the most horrific crimes committed in history.

If you know Hoppy you have heard the story of him sitting in an abandoned car wash during Hurricane Andrew while working for Miami Dade.  He jokes about this event but he was one of the first to respond in the rescue and recovery efforts immediately following hurricane Andrew.

Hoppy is getting the best medical care available in Jacksonville, Fl. but this is keeping his family away from their home and employment in Cocoa, Fl.  This is going to have a huge financial impact on them and we kindly ask that if you are able, please donate any amount possible as even the smallest amount will help.

Anyone who knows Hoppy knows that he is always there to help and always puts other’s needs before his own.  This is our time to help Hoppy and his family as they move forward with his treatment and extensive recovery.

For updated information on his condition his family has set up a Facebook page under “Hoppy Strong”
