TL;DR Mike and Lisa are essentially homeless and broke due to illness.
For those that have a minute I will let Mike tell it in his own words...
In January of this year I took a new job in Kissimmee FL that was a big and exciting step for me and Lisa. Things were going really well and there was even talk of possible promotion and re-location within a year if I continued with the success I was having. In May, I had what was treated as a stroke and kept overnight in the hospital. I was released the next day. I went back to work a couple of days later and had no memory of who I was or what I was doing, where I was or anything.
I had never had migraines prior but I was beginning to have them and I could not remember. Apparently I was being treated improperly because I kept getting worse, my memory got worse, I could not drive, I even had a hard time taking the dog for a walk and finding my way back home. I had all kinds of testing done and things kept getting worse. They had no idea what was going on but I was not able to function at any normal level.
My wife finally arranged for me to get into Mayo Clinic. By this time, we had lost our apartment because I was not able to work and being so new to the company, had to take an unpaid leave of absence. My brother in law Bill and his wife Lori, graciously allowed us to stay with them in Jacksonville so I could go to Mayo. Anyway, Mayo neurologists determined what was going on and began treatment and I am doing better, memory is better and I am currently looking for a job. My former company had to replace me because of the length of my absence.
As you can can imagine, this has taken quite a toll on Lisa and me. I have not worked or drawn a paycheck since May. I’m sure you all can figure out what that means in regards to the bills that have accumulated.
We are typically very private people and take care of our own and help as many as we can along the way, so posting this is very difficult for me. I do not want to come across as someone looking for a handout or anything. But as I was reminded today by a good friend, We are the body of Christ and we get robbed of being a blessing when we don’t know that there is a need.
