2/16/2020 UPDATE: Hello friends and family. We are sad to tell you all that Mike passed away this morning. We know he is no longer in pain and is now with his mom and dad. Thank you all for your support and love. Plans for his memorial are currently in the works. We can use all the help we can get at this time!
Mike's story:
Mike has been a fighter all of his life. He is no stranger to medical issues, hospital visits, and surgeries. Early January 2020, Mike went into the hospital for what we all hoped would be "just another routine visit". We anticipated him getting better and coming home to continue the fight.
But this time was different. After being transferred to two different facilities with multiple diagnoses, we received the news that no family wants to hear. Mike is in liver failure and is experiencing many complications related to this diagnosis. The doctors told Mike and the family that medically speaking, there is nothing more that can be done to improve Mike's condition.
He is home now, under Hospice care. His loving wife Sherry has not left his side and continues to be his biggest supporter and partner.
As you probably know, the costs involved in this situation are significant. Daily expenses, medical bills, final arrangements, and the always unexpected costs are more than his wife can manage on her own.
We know Mike was a loved member of our community and we know that anyone who knew Mike would want to help, but it is often uncomfortable to ask what is needed. We have setup this fund to allow anyone and everyone to help Mike and his wife Sherry focus on spending this precious time together without being worried or distracted by finances.
We appreciate any help you are able to give, big or small. We appreciate you sharing this campaign with others in hopes of reaching more people.
