Move Mountains For Mike Meloche
Mike Meloche, 57, thirty year resident of Lasalle, is a hard working custodian for the Windsor -Essex Catholic District School Board. He also worked for the French Catholic School Board. Mike is a long time member of the AMA Sportsman's Club and loves to hunt and fish. For years he has helped to measure the fish at the annual Robert Meloche Children's Fishing Derby, named in honour of his late father. Mike, who has moved mountains of school furniture, is well known for going above and beyond his duties as a custodian. He is always ready to lend a helping hand. Now he is in need of your support. Two years ago, Mike was diagnosed with ALS in Canada, and Lyme Disease in the United States. These diseases are degenerative and they attack the nervous system. As a result, Mike's mobility has been significantly affected and he needs the help of a walker and a wheelchair to perform the activities of daily living. Due to his diagnosis, he has been unable to work for over a year and a half. Mike and his wife Adrianna have pursued many different types of treatment in Canada and the United States. Most of the treatments were not covered by their health care plan. Mike is now hoping to get treatment in Germany for Lyme Disease. As well, their house needs renovations so that Mike can safely remain in their home for as long as possible. Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
