Mike "Lumpy" Betins medical fund

Many people in the Cape region know Mike Betins, aka “Lumpy.”  Mike has been at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia since January 10 battling infections that have made an appearance in various parts of his body, including his spine and foot.  Since being admitted to Jefferson, he has underwent three surgeries and is likely facing more surgery before he will be discharged. 

Although the family has health insurance, Mike and his family are facing many other expenses.  Briana, his wife, has been spending as much time in Philadelphia with Mike as possible during this ordeal. 

At this time financial burdens include any out-of-pocket medical expenses not covered by insurance, lost wages for both Mike and Bri, and travel expenses for Bri as she travels between Lewes and Philadelphia. 

This initial fundraising page is to get Bri some funds to cover immediate expenses.  In the future, the fundraising goal may be updated to include expenses related to post-hospital rehabilitation for Mike or any other unexpected burdens they encounter.
 
When Bri has been sharing updates on Mike on facebook, many people have offered good thoughts and prayers.  This is an additional way to show your support and help their family during a very difficult and lengthy medical ordeal.
