Thank you to all who have donated! Near, far, family, friends...friends of friends! It's truly amazing!
Mike is doing fantastic and has started PT. He was finally able to ditch the brace he was wearing and is leading a more normal life.
On 12/5/13, Mike LeBaron fell out of a tree stand approximately 20-25ft while hunting. Fortunately, someone was with him and able to call the appropriate help almost immediately.
He was transported to RI Hospital where they learned he had multiple fractures in his spine from the T10 to S1 vertebrae (a length of about 13 inches) with one resting on his spinal cord.
Following numerous procedures and many set backs, Mike left the hospital after almost a month for rehab...a miracle!
Upon entering rehab he declared he would be there for just a week. He followed through on his promise, and was one of their best "customers"!
Mike was able to return home to his family only thirty-six days after his fall, surpassing everyone's expectations and looking fantastic! While he still has a long road to travel until he is 100%, he is well on his way.
The LeBaron's are so very lucky in many ways. That being said, there are some things not covered or only partially covered. The multiple surgeries, the doctor appointments, the visiting nurse and the multiple prescriptions have added up quickly.
There are so many people in the LeBaron network (friends near and far, hockey families, work, etc) who have wondered how they could help the LeBaron's...well this is your opportunity!
I know that this family would never ask for help in this way, but I also know they will be so appreciative. Please consider giving to this fund to help the LeBaron's. Thank you so much!
