Mike Iafeta’s Final Journey

Monday 14th October 2019 started off like any other day, little did we know our world was about to be rocked. Late afternoon, we received the devastating news that our Dad, Grandfather, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Nephew and beloved friend to many had suddenly passed away leaving us with shattered hearts.
As many people may know, Dad has positively influenced and contributed to the local and wider communities in both Australia and New Zealand in multiple ways.
He co-founded and implemented The Koha Shed Australia (TKSA). An organisation set up to help individuals and families in the community in their time of need, provide support and create a collective network of like minded individuals to spread the gift of giving.
Among many other roles he played, he was an active role model and spokesperson for domestic violence prevention, homelessness awareness and family support.
His positivity, smile, sense of humour and laugh were contagious and he had the ability to instantly bring joy and happiness to those around him.
He was a natural born leader with a heart of gold and always put others before himself. I think it’s safe to say that Dad loved a challenge and lived an amazing, fulfilling life.
Dad’s final wish was to be laid to rest with his Mum and Dad in Porirua, New Zealand. Costs involved to transport Dad home along with the immediate family at short notice are extremely high as you could imagine. We are relying on the generosity of the public, those whose lives have been touched by his magic and all extended family and friends to make his dream a reality.
I’d like to deeply thank everyone on behalf of Sharon, my brothers and sisters Valerie, Aleisha, Taylor, Michael, DJ, Peter, Tamati, the Iafeta family and myself for the messages of love and support. Your contribution is a testament to the man that Dad was and we are humbled by the support and generosity shown to honour his memory.
All funds raised will be used to cover all funeral related expenses and be managed by Sharon Iafeta (Terei) (Mike's wife)
