Mike Hanson Medical Expenses

Mike was diagnosed with colon cancer right after Christmas 2019.  His treatment includes 12 rounds of chemo, followed by surgery in July.  Mike and LuAnn travel from Bismarck to Fargo every other week for chemo treatments.  His oncologist at Roger Maris Cancer Center, Dr. Preston Steen, is a friend of Mike's sister, Myrna.  We are very grateful for the wonderful care he is receiving from Dr. Steen and the medical staff.

With any medical treatment, the expenses add up.  Mike retired from the NDSU Extension Service.  He has a Federal Health Insurance Plan.  It is a good plan, however as with most insurance plans, the patient responsibility has increased.  Mike and LuAnn stay with Myrna when they come to Fargo.  However, travel expenses and other expenses related to the cancer journey continue to add up.

Many of you know that in his retirement, Mike is a nature photographer who sells his photos at Pride of Dakota events and other art & craft shows.  With his cancer treatment, he is unsure about his ability to participate in some of the shows this summer and fall based on his recovery from surgery and the follow-up chemo.  In addition, Mike also has a couple of part-time jobs to keep busy and help supplement their retirement income.  He has been unable to work at those jobs since his diagnosis.  

The expenses of this cancer journey, along with the decreased income from Mike Hanson Photography, etc. are the reason to set up a God Fund me Account.   Your support is greatly appreciated and will assist Mike and LuAnn in meeting these medical expenses.   We continue to cherish your prayers for Mike's healing.  Please know that your gift, no matter the size will make a difference for Mike and LuAnn.
