Mike Evans was an extraordinary young man who never met a stranger and would do anything in his power to help someone in need. He had a heart for young people and worked tirelessly to help young people better their lives. Mike served on the worship team as a keyboard player and as a youth leader at Crossover Church in Johnsonville SC.
Recently, while traveling to Redding California to further his worship educational experience with Bethel Church and perform missionary work in Nevada, Mike was involved in a tragic accident in Bakersfield California. Mike's car had broken down and was being repaired at a shop in town. He and Hunter Wainscott decided to walk to a nearby restaurant to eat while they waited. While walking to the restaurant, they were struck by a trailer that had become unhitched from a passing truck. The accident killed Mike on impact and severely injured Hunter. This tragic event ultimately resulted in a bright young life being taken way too soon.
This GoFundMe account has been established by Hubert Mikes, Media Director of Crossover Church. Mike has been a very close friend of mine for over 10 years. We have served along side one another at Crossover Church in Johnsonville where Mike served as a keyboard player on the Crossover Church praise and worship team and as a youth leader with Lift Student Ministries.
100% of the monies raised will go to David Evans (Mike's Dad) to be used to assist his family pay for the expenses of bringing Mike home to be laid to rest. Those costs include the transportation costs to deliver his body from Bakersfield, California to Johnsonville, South Carolina to prepare for his burial, transportation costs to freight his car and belonging from Bakersfield, California to Johnsonville, South Carolina, all burial expenses, and any other expenses arising from this tragic event such as loss of family income, etc. We are urging memorials be used to help the family through this effort. We thank you for your consideration in this time of loss.
