Mike and Sheila Danna

Mike and Sheila Danna met in the late 80's and have been best friends ever since.  Mike, a proud veteran, is Sheila's full time caregiver as Sheila has been a warrioring through Muscular Dystrophy her whole life.  Muscular Dystrophy is a degenerative disease that causes you to slowly lose muscle use throughout your lifetime and as a result, Sheila has been in a chair since her 20's.  Though MD has been a lifelong struggle, it also brought Mike and Sheila together as they met on a bus service Sheila used in her younger years and Mike was a driver for that service.  The American Love story (:  Despite the fact that both of these individuals could live selfishly for survival, that's never been who they are.  They not only love each other with an incredible passion, but also love people and love helping.  They are the definition of the people who would give the clothes off their back if someone were in need, without question.  They also are not the type to ask for help.  They do everything they can to be independent and always make it work no matter how much they need to sacrifice.  Well, the family that loves them is ready to ask for help on their behalf.  In the last few months they have had one medical set back after another.  It started with Mike discovering he needed to have stents put in for his heart in March and moved to Sheila having surgery not long after.  For most homes this would be stressful and scary, but for this couple it was life changing.  Mike has fought through his recovery to continue his love of taking care of Sheila.  But now, Mike is in the hospital again with a sickness that the medical staff is having an impossible time of diagnosing.  He has now been in the hospital getting test upon test administered to try and get him healthy and Sheila has been home worrying about the health of her husband and getting assistance from family to help her with the everyday tasks that most of us take for granted everyday.  Unfortunately, the family is only capable of doing so much and we find ourselves in a position of needing to break down and seek help for Sheila at home.  We are seeking out the most effective help we can while still trying to control costs.  The numbers we have received for that care are $10,000 per month on top of any medical fees that are adding up as we try and get Mike back in shape.  This puts our family in a bind as most can imagine.  As a strong family who all love each other unconditionally, we are trying to work through a short-term plan so we can focus on what we will need to do long-term to help this amazing couple.  Any kind help would so greatly appreciated so we can keep our family healthy and safe through this bout of life-changing circumstances.  The love and good souls within these two is undescribable, and we hope during this time of need that we can see that love and kindness given back to them.
