Mike and Amanda Fulton’s John’s Hopkins stay

***UPDATE***
Now that the Fulton’s Baltimore trip is a couple of weeks away, they are more specifically aware of what their needs will be. A few thousand more and we can give this family a little
bit of financial stability in a time of extreme struggle and uncertainty. Thanks so much. (Original story below. )

Mike Fulton is a faithful man of God, a beloved son, a cherished husband and an invaluable and involved father of 5.

Last year Mike was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. After several long and arduous months of chemo, he and his family were given the good news that he was believed to be cancer free. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when going for his 3 month check-up PET scan, they discovered that the cancer is back. And heartbreakingly, it is back with a vengeance.

Mike and his wife Amanda had an appointment at John’s Hopkins yesterday and were told that with some very intense chemo and radiation and a bone marrow transplant, Mike will have an 80% chance to beat this and go on with life, able to share it with his wife and 5 beautiful children. Unfortunately, Mike and Amanda will need to stay in Baltimore, near the hospital, for 60 days following his transplant and will need to be easily accessible for in-home care. The hospital housing waiting list is just too long and Mike doesn’t have the time to wait. Some friends of the Fulton’s and I have reached out to some Air BnB’s in the Baltimore area and even with a “we would like to help your friends” discount, it’s still very expensive. We also have a possibility of a long term hotel stay at a discounted rate in the works.

If you could donate ANY MONEY at all, every little bit helps reach the goal we have set for this family. The Fulton’s will not only have to pay for a place in Baltimore, but also will require food AND still have to pay their mortgage on their house in Lancaster that their children will be staying in, with relatives, while they are away for treatment. The financial weight that this carries puts added stress on an already stressful situation, especially being away from their 5 babies on Christmas. Imagine if every person who saw this even donated only $15, how much that could add up to. Monetary donations are very much appreciated as well as a grocery store gift cards to Whole Foods, so that Amanda can make healthy meals (and juices) for herself and her husband during this difficult time. And as always- their faith in God is strong and they know the power of prayer. So feel free to add them to your church’s prayer list, as well as your own daily prayer time. Thank you all so much.
