Mikayla's Lymphoma Journey

Two months ago Mikayla found a lump in her neck, like any normal teenager she decided to get it checked out at her local GP. She had multiple biopsy's, chest X-rays, ultrasounds and a bone marrow biopsy. Her greatest fear came true. 

On the 20th of January 2018 Mikayla was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It is a type of cancer that effects the white blood cells of the lymphatic system. After a week stay in hospital Mikayla will start chemotherapy beginning on the 30th jan 2018.

As you all know there are many side affects that come along with chemotherapy. One of the most common side affects is hair loss. The cost of a wig that contains real human hair can cost between $800-$3000. Which is going to put a strain on her and her family financially, hence why this page has been made.
