Mikayla's eye surgery

Donation protected
On October 29th our beautiful 5 year old Mikayla will have eye surgery. Doctors will make three incisions and work on three different muscles that control how the eye moves. One will be tightened and the other two loosened. We are praying that this will correct her eyes from crossing, and thus improving her vision.

Mikayla was digagnosed with Strombisimis one year ago. She started wearing glasses so that both eyes could see the same image. With strombisimis you have one dominant eye and one weak eye. What happens is the dominant eye starts to do all the work causing the weaker eye to "shut off" making it turn inward. Wearing glasses helps her to see one image. After a year of wearing glasses her eyes are still crossing and her vision is getting worse. The only way to correct this is to have it surgically fixed. We are hopeful that she will only need one surgery but there is a 50% chance she will need 1-3 more as she gets older.

If you have ever had the privileged to meet or know Mikayla, she is the most loving, kind hearted and beautiful little girl.

This is where you come in, we are asking for your help. The surgery center requires all funds be paid up front or she cannot have the surgery. After insurance our co-pay is $4700! This is a huge price tag for our family. Any little bit helps, and we appreciate you taking the time to read this and/or donate. Thank you!!
