Mika’s Pelvis Surgery

Hey everyone, had a tragic accident this morning :( Mika was let out back last night and she had dug underneath the fence and escaped.. We went to go look for her but didn’t have any luck. A little bit later a lady found her and left a voicemail for Colton, her owner, but he was at work and didn’t see it till he took his break about 2 hours later. He tried to call back but, unfortunately, there was no repsonce. He had to go back to work so he sent me her number and I began trying to get ahold of her but again, no luck. Turns out she also works graveyard shift and she had made her a bed and set her in the back but Mika managed to escape from their fence as well. This morning when he got off work he got a call by a witness that Mika was hit by a truck and the person took off. Colton and Ruben rushed to get her and took her to the vet. After X-rays and blood work, they told him her pelvis is broken in multiple places and will need surgery for her to get her quality of life back. The veterinarian said her way of life without the surgery would be very poor to where it would be best to just put her down… there’s a chance her liver is damaged but we won’t know unless we go ahead with the surgery. We really don’t want to say goodbye to her so soon as she’s only 2 years old and we’ve had many adventures and fun times with her. The vet said they can hold her for for the night but she’ll have to get the surgery by tomorrow (September 17th) If you’d like to see more pics of her you can go see Colton’s Instagram @colton_coomes912 I know it’s a short time span but we would love to save her and continue the memories.
