Mikan's Emergency Hospitalization
Donation protected
Hi everyone!
This is Sherry and TJ! As you might know, on Thanksgiving morning, our darling little son, Mikan, had to be taken to the emergency pet hospital because he was not eating anything and straining to urinate. (Two whole plates of wet food went ignored!) Since a urinary blockage is a serious condition that can become life threatening in a matter of days, we were advised to seek immediate medical attention.
Upon examination, they found stones in his bladder, kidney, and urethra and concluded that he would need a cystotomy. He was monitored for two nights and was apparently a total lovebug whenever awake. We took him for surgery Saturday morning and he has luckily been recovering well ever since. He's back to happily eating, drinking, and knocking things off my desk. While writing this, he's blissfully asleep with his silly little cone.
We're so immensely grateful that he was able to be seen over the holiday weekend but with the sudden hospitalization AND surgery, this has left us with quite a hefty bill. We were able to start a payment plan for $2k of the surgery costs but had to pay upfront for the hospitalization, which was an additional $2,987.59. Any support you are able to provide is greatly appreciated, whether it be financial or well wishes to our little boy. Thank you for reading!
