Fighting cancer isn't cheap

Meet Miguel. He is an extraordinary human with a strong will to show the world his condition will not slow him down. Miguel suffers from a terminal, disease known as Epidermolysis Bullosa. EB causes Miguel's skin to be as fragile as Butterfly wings- any friction or contact can cause blisters and open wounds that will not heal. There are currently NO treatment options available for EB patients, there is no cure. Traditional treatment regimes consist of attempting to manage the pain, keeping the wounds bandaged, daily bandage changes and frequent bleach baths or soaks in vinegar. Wounds that will not heal eventually become infected or worse, they turn to skin cancer. This outcome is fatal for EB patients.
Miguel fought cancer like a true champion last summer, leaving the battlegrounds with nothing but hope and determination to bring awareness, hope, and joy to all his family, friends, and followers. However, recently he found out that this was only just the beginning of a long battle with cancer.  After getting one of his "nubs" amputated he now has cancer in his other "nub" and his foot as well.  This is why Mr. Nice Guy and Miguel have teamed up to help him face this long journey. Miguel has been a great inspiration to us all, and we are calling all family, friends, and those touched by Miguel’s story to help donate to supporting him in his fight to stay alive as long as possible.
How urgent is this need?  It is extremly urgent because the sad truth is we really don't know how long he will be here for.  He is very lucky to have survived his last surgery and now it is hard to say whether or not he will be so fortunate this next time.  We spend time with him on the regular and we are always aware of his poverty and lack of resources.  It is hard to grasp how difficult his life is and how much he suffers until you spend some time with him.  If you spent even a few hours with him, you would see that everything from how and what he eats, to what kind of clothes he can wear, are simply not things he can afford.  Imagine having to suffer every day of your whole life, then get cancer; all the while not even having enough money to go get a healthy cup of chicken noodle soup when you need it.   
Why does Miguel need money you may ask?  Well just come and meet him in person his needs will be apparent.  His clothes are stained and haggard, he cannot even afford to eat the wholesome food he needs to eat to stay healthy.  His iphone is cracked which is the main way he stays connected to the outside world and gives back to the world through sharing his inspiring attitude and even his medical procedures he is often unable to pay for out of pocket.  His last cancer treatment was postponed by 1 year because they could not secure the finances to have the surgery done sooner.  Imagine needing a ride to the store or to a doctors appointment and have no money to pay for a cab or the ability to walk down the street to the bus.   Imagine needing someone to help you take a shower,  get dressed, or put bandges on, and have no money to pay for the help.  It is hard to stress how much this money could ease Miguels pain and suffering during this final chapter in his life.
I will end on this positive note; Miguel has made his peace on some level with life and his condition.  He knows that this cancer will eventually take his life and it is only a matter of time before he makes that final journey.  Its been hard these last few years being his freind and seeing how much things suck for him, but also an inspiration to see his ability to keep his head up and do his best.  Without spending time with Miguel, you really just cannot grasp how sting he is, and how much he needs the supprt and help from other people.  Even if it is 5 dollars, please make a donation to this guy.  If anyone can use the help, its him.
