Mighty Mason’s Memorial

Mighty Mason

Every parents’ biggest fear is outliving one of their children. When you hear of it happening to someone else, the response is always “I can’t even imagine.”

None of us want to. We don’t want to even begin to wonder what it would feel like to lose a child before they were able to live a long and fulfilling life.

Matt and Brittany’s Mighty Mason was never guaranteed a long and fulfilling life. Battling a life with AHC would be anything but easy, but Matt and Brittany did everything they could to give Mason the best life he could possibly have this side of heaven.

The four of us and our spouses have had the privilege of watching each of our children run wild and free on this earth, but Mighty Mason never got to run wild and free. But he was a warrior! He fought through so much, and reached milestone after milestone… many of which were thought to be impossible.

However, on the morning of Thursday October 5th, Brittany walked in to Mason’s bedroom and found him lifeless. Mighty Mason had unexpectedly gone to meet his savior during the night.

As we say goodbye to Mason’s earthly body, our hope is to bless Matt and Brittany, big sister Maddie and anyone who visits his gravesite with a beautiful reminder of the mighty warrior he was on this earth and the perfect, pain-free body he now has in heaven. We are having a bronze sculpture cast in his likeness (see example below), that will not only encapsulate how mighty and courageous Mason was, but also show him looking up at heaven with a smile.

Oh how we can’t wait to see you running on the streets of heaven, Mighty Mason!
We know you ran into the arms of Jesus with that infectious smile of yours and a “hey,” as he wrapped his arms around you and declared “well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Well done, Mighty Mason. Well done. Run free, buddy. We can’t wait for you to show us around.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
II Timothy 4:7
