Mighty Mark's Battle

In August of 2017 my brother in law, Mark Dickhaus started having pain in his mouth and face. Thinking it was a dental issue he pursued dental treatment.  He continued to be in pain and couldn’t sleep and was losing weight.  After several dentists and procedures, an oral surgeon was seen.  He extracted a tooth and lanced his gums. Still no relief.  Finally, that doctor decided to send some tissue off for testing. 

On Oct 31st, 2017 we all got the news that surprised us and scared us…Cancer. 

After many tests, procedures, hospital stays, misdiagnosis and finally the correct diagnosis, Mark was told he has Multiple Myeloma.  This is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. 

Mark and his wife Sue have been fighting this fight hard now for over a year.  And the road is getting hard as Mark hasn’t been able to work since February 8th, 2018 and Sue has stayed by his side taking care of him through it all.  Mark has lost over 100 lbs and is still battling this horrible cancer.

Mark is currently waiting to go through a Stem Cell Transplant and this is going to be another 30 (+/-) days of hard battle.  Sue will be with him through it all.  Because of all this they have experienced a significant loss of income.
