Mighty Heidi

My sister, Heidi Keele, was very suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that had metastasized to several other organs before she even had any symptoms.  A week previous to the findings she had received a clean bill of health on her yearly wellness exam and blood work.  Ever healthy and energetic at age 45 this is quite a shock to us all!  Heidi was knee deep in full time Gonzaga Law School and training for the Spokane half marathon at the time of the diagnosis among many other family and community activities.  She has 4 children  - one at home , two in college and one is married.  She was the advocate for my dad and uncle during their cancer battles as well as for anybody else in the family that needed support.  Now Heidi is in need of support.  Cancer is an expensive and heartbreaking diagnosis that taxes you on all sides.  Along with the intense medical costs Heidi also is dealing with losing her dream of finally getting to go to college, yet still having to pay back all of her student loans and grants.  Let's take the financial pressure off for the Keele's and let them focus on fighting their fight!
