My name is Jody Owen. I am the general manager and agent with American Caribbean Real Estate Middle and Lower Keys. I have set up this gofundme account on behalf of all the agents in our company and the overwhelming response from friends and family wanting to help after Irma.
Thanks to the diligent and ongoing efforts of all of the first responders we are getting our basic utilities back and beginning to clean up and start rebuilding. But, there is much work to be done and much help that is needed.
Ginger Henderson, our broker, and I were among the first of our company back in the Keys after Irma laid waste to our island home. We returned with thousands of dollars worth of supplies which have dwindled. I have personally handed out hundreds to individuals that were in need of basics just to get by. We all have friends that have lost everything and our community is losing people that have been here for decades and that we all rely on daily. When faced with losing a home and everything you own, including income, it is overwhelming. And so, we are asking for your help.
Anything that you can help contribute will be 100% distributed directly to Keys people and organizations in need. We will provide you updates and photos so that you can see exactly how your generous donation is helping. We are the only American Caribbean islands in the United States and we need your help.
