Micki's Recovery Fund

Hello all

I am posting this today asking for your help. I have a 21 one year old daughter that is in need of help. As hard as this is for me I know that I need help too. I am sending my daughter to a rehab program as she has fallen in to drugs. I have tried hard over the last few years to help her on my own and keeping this out of the community but what I realize is that I just can’t. This is the hardest thing I have ever done. This has forced me to lean on faith more everyday. I am tired and all my resources are used up. I fight this daily. We are struggling. There are so many people going thru this and I pray one day they to can help their child the way they need to be helped. Again I am asking for your help. I need to raise $24,000 to send may daughter to this program. This is so hard for me to do and put out to the community but I need help. Admitting it is the first step. This is a journey and even five dollars helps. I appreciate you and your desire to help my family.

I have posted my daughter’s story below as I pray it helps others to get the help they need.

My daughter’s name is Micki. She has a drug addiction. It started with marijuana, then pain pills, to meth, to heroin, to ice and whatever else is around for her to take. Micki has struggled in life since she was a toddler. Preschools would kick her out because they claimed she was wearing the teachers out. Psychiatrist said she was ADHD at 2 ½ years old. She had many mood swings in a five-minute time period, so at 7 years old, they said she had Bipolar along with ADHD. Most the medicines they would put her on, didn’t work or she had an allergic reaction. I repeatedly question her diagnoses, but I was told it’s rare for them to diagnose a child with ADHD and Bipolar at such a young age, but her behavior shows all the signs.During school, many of the kids treated her unkind. In 8th grade, several high school kids, forced her to get on her knees, while they recorded it on a phone, having her say she was ugly and a whore. When she tried running away, they would run after her and knock her down. The school told me for my daughter’s safety, it would be better to homeschool her. Recently, she admitted to me she was raped at 15 years old. I had told several people over the years my gut instincts felt like she had been, but I didn’t have confirmation. When I asked her why she didn’t tell me, her response was “It wasn’t brutal like you see on tv”.When she turned 18 years old, she was retested at a different facility. They told me she was misdiagnosed, that she was borderline personality disorder, which is commonly misdiagnosed as bipolar. All these years, my daughter was told something was wrong with her and she needed to take this medication or that medication. She was brain washed thinking drugs will make her feel better.

She wants desperately to stop all the drugs she’s doing now, but knows she can’t on her own nor can she stay living here in Missouri at this time. Adult & Teen Challenge has approved her to attend their program. They have multiple locations all over the United States. It’s a one year up to 18-month program. Please check out their website for more information https://teenchallenge.cc/program/adult-women/It cost $2000 a month for her to attend. I am asking for help. This is the opportunity for my daughter to be the young woman she was meant to be.
