Michelle's Miracles

You may know Michelle through her sister, Suzanne Kakouris, Owner and Director of Suzanne's Dance Connection in Burlington. Michelle's life was flipped upside down one morning in March of
2008 after waking up with a severe headache, which turned out to be much worse news. After being taken to her local hospital, they rushed her to a Boston Hospital after finding a tumor on her brain. Somewhere between transport and surgery she suffered a major stroke. The family was told that she may only have a year to live. She has had road block after road block for the last 6 years, each one causing more complications and less hope for a full recovery. She has dealt with a brain tumor, a major stroke as well as having to re-learn how to talk, swallow, eat and walk all over again. Her memory has been tried. She has been through currently 11 surgeries which have resulted in eroding layers of skin necessary for adequate healing; therefore requiring her to have attempted grafts and surgeries to try to close this difficult defect. Many people have asked what they could do to help, so we thought it would be a great idea to let Michelle know how many others support her and are fighting with her to make a full recovery so she can see her three daughters grow!
