Hey all,
I know a lot of us know Michelle Lewis, and have been graced by her hilarity and great vibes. I've been super proud of Michelle for making a big move out west to pursue her career, and she's really going after it. She was nervous about not having much to do in Craig, Colorado, but (like we knew she would), she's made the most of her circumstances and is enjoying the outdoors.
Recently, Michelle got into a terrifying accident while night skiing. She was going really fast down the mountain when she lost control, her ski flew off, she heard her knee pop, and she went tumbling down the mountainside. It was an excrutiating minute laying in the snow unable to move before people found her and came to her help.
Her meniscus, ACL, MCL, and PCL are torn, and her knee cap and her femur are fractured.
As you can imagine, medical costs are insane for all of this. Xrays, surgeries, plane tickets to fly home: these are just some some of the things she's dealing with. Not to mention, she's out of work without compensation and will need months of physical therapy after surgery.
I realize we may not reach the goal I've set here, but I thought it would be helpful to see how much is actually coming out of Michelle's own pocket for this terrible accident. Really, any donation to help her out will go a long way. Worrying about making ends meet should be the last thing on her mind right now, and I really hope we as a community can at least relieve some monetary pressure for her.
