Friends and family, as many of you know our mom, Michelle, has been very sick for the last few years. In 2015 she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension, meaning the blood vessels in her lungs are closing and she cannot breathe without assistance. This disease was caused by the radiation used during her breast cancer treatments in 2005 which ultimately stayed in her body and destroyed the vessels in her lungs and heart. To treat this condition she is hooked up to a medicine bag that is pumping directly into her heart 24/7. Without the medicine she completely loses her breath within a matter of minutes.
Pulmonary Tension is a very serious illness that has flipped our lives upside down. We lost our house, her job, and her spirit. In the last two years we been continuously knocked down by this illness and it's financial, emotional, and physical consequences.
Just recently she was finally getting back on her feet by working part time and getting back to being the happy Michelle everyone knows and loves. Entering 2018 we had high hopes for her.
Unfortunately we have been struck another blow today with a call informing us that the charity that has paid the THOUSANDS of dollars a month for her medicine and supplies is no longer providing for PH patients.
The medicine is sent to our house every month and the only way we have been able to pay for it is due to grace of this charity. Now we have to come up with the money to pay for the medicine to keep her alive.
We’ve kept her illness mostly private and haven’t said a lot to people about it. We’ve been blessed to have this charity and been able to make it work for as long as we could, but now we have run out of options and our looking to our loved ones for help.
