I have set up a GoFundMe for Michelle Carter. She is my niece's mother, and she has been our family for over 21 years. She really could use any help she can get. Please read her story.

My name is Michelle, and I have 3 beautiful children. On July 25, 2022, I was involved in a nearly fatal car accident, resulting in a fractured neck, my spine snapped in half, all ribs were fractured on both sides, the bottom 2 on the left side completely displaced, broke my collarbone, injured my lungs, my bladder had to be operated on, multiple blood transfusions, broken wrist, and completely paralyzed for the first 12 months after my injury. I was in ICU for 7 weeks and in the hospital for close to 6 months. It was a hard road to get where I am today. A year after my accident, I started busting my butt to get the healthiest I could be!!! Guess what? I did it. Thankfully, my spinal cord is still intact, and I am learning to walk again and have gained back my feeling & function. The moment I got healthy enough, I went back to work full-time in an office selling life insurance. I did amazing, but little did I know I overworked myself. I naturally put being a mother & working (can’t make it on SSDI alone) before my daily workouts to ensure my health in the future. On January 3, 2025, I fell playing with my 7-year-old, fracturing my right hip all the way through to my pelvis down to my right femur. Also, learning that I am losing bone density by being in my wheelchair too long. My hip surgery was on 1/31/2025. I am no longer working at my previous employer. I am, however, looking for part-time work while I put my health first so that I can be the best person I possibly can and live a long life. I have no choice but to work on my health; I am declining fast. I have been blessed with a fully equipped van for me to get to physical therapy, to find & keep work, and most importantly, care for my children. I am asking for help and prayers to keep my van. My payments are $698.22 a month, and my car insurance is $431.00 a month. I am not working right now due to me not being up to par with my previous employer’s standard while recovering from hip surgery. I am, however, looking for part-time work. But I desperately need help. I am trying to raise $10,000 to ensure I can keep my bills afloat until I can get healthy enough to work full-time again. Please help me. Anything and every little bit will help. She is trying everything she can to not lose her van that has been made especially for her as she is in a wheelchair. Please, if you can help this momma keep her van and insurance on it. She has been through so much and is one of the strongest people I know. As people and as a community, who are we if we don’t lift one another up in their time of need? I cannot imagine going through everything she has, but I know that we can help lighten the burden.
