On October 7th 2017 the world that we knew stopped. What started out as a normal ritual of food, football, and kids turned into the most amazing display of teamwork ever. It was an event that will forever stick with our famous group of ten. BUT first let me tell you about our beautiful friend Michelle, pictured in the blue t-shirt posted. Michelle has been a heart patient since birth. She has had 3 heart surgeries and surpassed the expectations of the doctors that know her. Michelle is amazing, she may be small, but there is a lot of fight in the woman. She is well known in the medical and dental field, as she is one of the best dental assistants the profession has ever seen. Her love for children is unbelievable. She has made a difference in their lives as well as the parents. She is just a remarkable person. So, lets fast forward to the night of Oct 7th. This was again, a normal get together that we have done just like every weekend before. Shortly after dinner Michelle made a simple comment, "I feel tingly." Then it happened. Michelle's heart stopped. Her heart stopped, her lungs stopped, Michelle was gone. The color drained from her face. Within seconds this famous group of friends started a quest to save her life. Our biggest and bravest of daddies pulled together all their wits and mental strength and started CPR. A mother pulled the children from the trauma and focus their mind on games and sights of love and happiness. Two more mother's geared together to focus on 911 and emergency responders and the other daddies pulled together to help Michelle's love through what will be the hardest thing he has ever witnessed. The love and teamwork that these friends displayed, saved Michelle's life. They kept the blood flowing to her brain, her lungs, and all her vital organs, they delivered the oxygen needed to put her in the best spot for survival. After what seemed like forever in this traumatic state, the amazing police officers of Hurricane Police Department arrived (within minutes) and delivered a vital shock to pull Michelle's heart back to it own beat. From there the EMS took over and she was stabilized and sent to the nearest hospital. Our beloved friend was alive. God chose and put all the right people in the right place, and our friend is ALIVE!
Michelle's journey has just started. She has left the skilled hands at CAMC Memorial and has entered the incredible hands a Cleveland Hospital. She is in waiting for a surgery that will give us many more years with our feisty friend. As of Saturday Oct 21st, it will be two weeks of being hospital bound. Michelle's love has stood faithfully by her side, never leaving her for even a minute. But, now this leaves a problem that neither should have to worry about- money. Both Michelle and her love, William have had to take a leave of absence from work . Michelle's love is spending over $700 in hotel and food for a week. We as friends are not about to let that happen. We are asking you: her friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, or even just strangers that have been touched by a story that only God had control of, to just make a small donation to and for Michelle. What does $5 do? It buys a meal, it gives a relief of a cold Coca-cola at midnight when the test are still going and you just need a little bit of caffeine to keep going. It gives one night in a hotel, and with my prayers, it will bring relief to their financial burdens. Be the blessing! We have set up a Team Manager to help get funds to Michelle and William.
