Michelle: My Healing Journey

This will be the first time I am sharing this with everyone publicly. It was hard for me to share but after praying about it, I have put my pride aside to come before you to ask for help. I not only want to ask for prayers and support but I also hope to raise awareness.
As some of you may know, I have been in discomfort and pain a lot lately. Although some of my symptoms were manageable with diet and lifestyle changes, I have gotten progressively worse. My symptoms include pain on the sides of my breast/underarm area, numbness and tingling, chest discomfort, and poor sleep. To make matters worse, I was exposed to black mold for two months while living in an apartment over the summer of last year and I eventually moved out from. However, the damage had already been done.

I was jumping from doctor to doctor without any answers to what was causing me to feel this ill out of nowhere. I was hopeless. The only thing that kept me going was my faith. It was hard but I looked to Jesus daily and found my hope in him. I was very sick for a little over 6 months from the black mold and it's effects in my lungs. By the grace of God I healed.

I had the breast implant surgery on April of 2005 and was told they were completely safe. The surgeon told me I would not have any complications during and after the surgery. He said I would be back at work in three days. It took me two whole weeks to recover. I was told that the implants rarely ruptured and that they would not have any affect on breastfeeding. Well in September of 2016 my left implant has ruptured and is totally deflated.

Prior to the surgery, I had been struggling with severe depression, anxiety, addictions, and self-hatred for ten years. I decided to get breast implants in an attempt to feel better about myself, having high hopes that this would be the answer to all of my problems. It was clearly an unwise decision. It caused more pain and suffering than I could have ever imagined. The root of the problem was never dealt with so I still struggled with self-image issues after that. I am now beginning to understand the true root-cause of my illness. It was deeply rooted in vanity and self-hatred.

I am blessed to have found out so quickly whereas some of these women with breast implant illness don’t find the cause of their suffering until a decade or more later. The longer they had their implants in for, the more severe their symptoms got. In some cases, the breast implant triggered an abnormal immune response in the body, causing cancer. The most crucial step to recovery is a timely and proper explant (removal) of the breast implants. The sooner I am able to have this operation, the better my chances will be at recovering. The implants will be removed en-bloc with a total capsulectomy, ensuring that all capsule tissue will be removed together with the implant to avoid further contamination. My body at its current highly toxic state will only begin to heal once these foreign objects are removed. To ensure proper removal, I will have to go see a plastic surgeon Lars P. Enevoldsen. This procedure along with anesthesia, medication, and travel expenses will cost 5,265.00. I am asking you to help me get the surgery I desperately need and to pray for me as I go on this journey of healing and recovery.

Prayer Requests
- That I would reach my goal of $5,265.00 and that the cost will not go up due to complications or the need to remove lymph nodes
- For the surgery to go well without any complications
- That my body will properly detox all of the mold.
- For a quick and full recovery so I can return to my normal activities and be able to return to work since I'm a single mom building a new business.
- That I would receive full body healing / all disease will leave my body in Jesus name!

Despite all of the hardships and sufferings that came with this, I have hope in the Lord who has been faithful throughout this entire journey. I have learned to love myself and respect the body that God has given me. I have received so much emotional healing already and I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my story with you. If there is only one thing you take away from this, I pray that you would love yourself the way that God has created you. There is nobody else in the world that was made like you! Thank you for listening to my story. Anything and everything is appreciated. If you cannot donate, prayers are welcome and very much appreciated in this difficult time. Thank you!

Please help me share my story and help spread awareness.

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion” - Psalm 103:2-4 NIV
